BARANGAROO, SYDNEY
SMOKIN’ ///
#1 Decks installed the outdoor decking in Matt Moran’s Sydney Restaurants Smoke, and the restaurant beneath known as Bea.
Nestled within the iconic Barangaroo House and overlooking Sydney’s skyline and waterfront, these venues are part of an award-winning structure seamlessly blending the beauty of nature with urban sophistication.
Our team installed 340 sqm of Tallowood decking, a resilient eucalypt species native to NSW and Queensland, renowned for its durability.
The project posed unique challenges, including accommodating curved perimeter walls and meeting tight deadlines for the holiday rush.
We used the Outdure QwickBuild Framing System, an innovative aluminium subframe ideal for low-height decks over waterproof membranes, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.
Each 60mm Tallowood board was pre-oiled prior to installation to protect against moisture. This is complemented by a P4 Non-Slip Rating achieved through an eco-crystalline protective coating, making it ideal for both commercial and residential settings, including pool areas.
